Description: Many of you may recognize the Duff’s name. For years these buffet-style family restaurants were fixtures throughout Middle America. Slowly, the chain dwindled away, and today only one Duff’s still stands—this one in Pigeon Forge. It’s open from mid-February through December, serving lunch and dinner only in the off-season months and adding a breakfast smorgasbord from May through October. For one price, you have your choice of at least six hot entrees (always including fried chicken), six vegetables, nine salads, and 10 desserts plus beverages. Carving stations with roast beef and ham are open after 3:30 p.m. on weekdays and all day on Saturday and Sunday. Duff’s signature dessert is the Hurricane Cake, a spice cake topped with a gooey, buttery, brown sugar topping. Repeat visitors ask for it by name.
