Description: There’s nothing like a good old-fashioned county fair. This week of food, rides, games, and exhibits gets started each Labor Day and continues through Saturday night. The fairgrounds, which flank the Little Pigeon River in Sevierville, are the site for the festivities, which include midway rides and games, home-baked pies and preserves, and exhibits of prize-winning livestock, fruits, and vegetables. Several events are annual favorites, like the tractor pull and the watermelon seed–spitting contest. Another highlight of the week is the beauty competition, in which young ladies from across the county vie for the title of Fairest of the Fair. Admission is $3 for adults, and children ages 12 and younger get in free. Once on the grounds, you can buy individual ride tickets or pay $18 for an armband that gets you unlimited ride access.
