Description: Since 1946, Houston has hosted the Shell Houston Open, a tournament on the PGA Tour. After moving around town over the years, the tournament is now played just outside of Houston in Humble at Redstone Golf Club. Shell Houston Open draws some of the biggest names in golf, with recent winners including Phil Mickelson, Fred Couples, and Vijay Singh. The 6-day tournament is held in April. Tickets can be purchased through the Shell Houston Open website. General admission costs $20 early in the tournament and increases to $25 for the final rounds. Free parking is available on-­site on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. On Thursday and Friday, park in the ecopark lot at George Bush Intercontinental Airport for $5 and take a free shuttle to and from the tournament. The ecopark lot is located just off JFK Boulevard (the main road to the airport) at Greens Road.
