Description: In early April, the River Oaks Country Club hosts the US Men’s Clay Court Championships, the last remaining Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) tournament to be played on a clay court. The highly competitive championships have featured established tennis pros like Andy Roddick and Andre Agassi, as well as up-­and-­coming players. The tournament lasts a week, with matches held twice a day. Tickets are sold on the tournament website. Prices increase as the tournament progresses; tickets to the earliest matches start at $20, and tickets for the Finals start at $50. Parking can usually be found on the side streets off River Oaks Boulevard. At night and on weekends, tournament parking is available at Lamar High School, located at 3325 Westheimer Rd., between Westheimer and West Alabama and between Buffalo Speedway and Kirby. There’s a free shuttle from the school to and from River Oaks Country Club.
