Description: One of the country’s first desegregated courses, Hermann Park Golf Course is also one of the city’s oldest and most popular courses. It was renovated in 1997 by golf architect Carlton Gipson, who designed several other attractive courses around Texas. Hermann Park Golf Course has a gold slope rating of 117 and a gold rating of 67.9. Like the rest of Hermann Park, the well-­manicured course is filled with oak trees that offer small pockets of shade. The course’s location makes it easily accessible from the Medical Center, the Museum District, and Rice University. Greens fees vary depending on the day and time, as well as the golfer’s age. Generally, you’ll pay somewhere between $8 (ages 17 and younger) and $26.50 for adults Fri through Sun. Electric carts and range balls are available for rental.
