Description: This Great Bridge landmark has been open since 1985. (Before then, there was a cafe that was actually in the city’s old courthouse.) It’s busy at lunch and even busier after business hours. This is where the local lawyers and other professionals head to mingle and meet. Folks call it Chesapeake’s Cheers. There was a fire in 2008, but the place has been completely rebuilt.

Description: This triple-named club in the shopping center off Greenbrier Parkway south of Military Highway recently changed moniker and format and is now open seven days a week. It used to be called Chevy’s and was annually voted the city’s best nightclub. There are still five bars, three stages, and three dance floors in the 10,000-square-foot facility you are sure to miss if you’re not looking carefully. There is no cover anymore in the now, all-Country format dance bar.

Description: This arcade/sports bar/billiards parlor/restaurant once was an anchor at Waterside in Norfolk. They recently moved into a large area on the first floor of the Greenbrier Mall in Chesapeake.
