City: Seattle, WA

Telephone: (206) 428-1983

Description: Queen Anne exemplifies the little market that could, completely powered by the local community to bring a farmers’ market to this neighborhood. After keeping a large Kroger grocery store out of the area in favor of the small, local Metropolitan Market, the Queen Anne Neighbors for Responsible Growth developed an association that brought the first farmers’ market to the hill in 2007. You’ll find street eats, farm-fresh fruits and vegetables, meats, dairy products, baked goods, herbs, and flowers. This is strictly a farm-only market; there are no craft vendors accepted, unless their items are made with farm products. Local chefs, authors, musicians, and nonprofit organizations are also represented. The market is open on Thurs from 3 to 7 p.m., between late May and early Oct.
