My girlfriend and I visited this Red Lobster on Saturday August 16th around 5 o'clock in the evening. The wait wasn't long, we were seated in a timely manner. The restaurant appeared to be clean and the staff was very polite. However, after eating the " pick three" shrimp, ( Walts, butterfly, and linguini) within hours of leaving the restaurant, I began feeling very ill. I woke up the next morning feeling even worse, vomiting and diarrhea to the extreme, later on Sunday, I checked myself into the emergency room. They suspected food poisoning, however they just gave me some fluids and sent me home at my request, and instructed me to return if symptoms worsen. The following day I felt even worse so I returned to the emergency room. After further testing they diagnosed me with severe infectious colitis, which is caused by contaminated foods. After bringing this to Red Lobsters attention, they apologized, sent me a $50 gift card, and informed me that their insurance company would be in contact. It has now been 10 days and I yet to hear from any insurance company. An confidential associate from Red Lobster has advised me to seek legal counsel, however, I plan to give them another day or 2 before I do so.
