Never have I had such an experience to make me feel as if I should walk out without paying for the meal. Our group has been eating at Carsonville Hotel for many years every year as we start off our weekend get together. We are usually a group of around 20 to 25 and we understand the slow service that comes with the establishment and use the time to hang out and share a few drinks. With the restaurant under new ownership, I was looking forward to seeing the changes and was anticipating possibly having better service as well. Almost 2 months before, our reservations were placed requesting outside seating unless there was inclement weather. Upon arrive our group of 18 were informed that we were informed that they had us set up inside, which we indicated our request and reservations were for outside. The female owner immediately went into defensive mode telling us that our reservation had just shown on her books last week, and that we were inside. We found our seats inside; however, again requested to have our group outside. Again denied, we proceeded to place our orders. Food began coming out about an hour later with some people getting partial food orders and others receiving nothing. Two hours went by and some of our group still had only a part of their order and others still waiting on food. We began complaining amongst ourselves at which time the female owner became verbally abusive to us. We were not complaining to her but she had overheard our complaints and again complained that we had just made the reservation thus making it sound like we were the ones at fault for our poor service and her poor attitude. Food was continuing to come from the kitchen practically being thrown onto tables. Several of our group started rejecting to accept the food at this point. In an effort to get past the experience, one of our members decided to order a shot for everyone in our group spending $80. He spoke to the male owner calmly trying to explain the bad experience we had just had and said that they need to look at how things are being handled as many of us were not only there in the group, but returning customers in smaller groups as well and after tonight’s experience none of us desired returning. If this is the type of treatment that others receive, their business was not going to thrive. The owner responded with attitude as well. I would say if you are stopping here with more then 2 people on a busy night, do so expecting that the owners and kitchen staff will be ready to throw you attitude and put the blame on you if you are unhappy with the way they do things.
