My family and I go to this Dennys all the time. Large groups after church, family meals, and business meetings. It has always been a great experience, until 7/16/14. The waitress was not well trained and the food was bad. This visit was just my 14 year old daughter and myself, stopping in after shopping. She ordered iced tea and I ordered coffee. The waitress brought the tea but forgot the coffee and had to go back and get it. She then explained that she was having a bad day already because she thought she had to be to work at 2:30 but it was actually 2, so she had come in late. It wasnt a cheerful way to start our meal after the waitress complaining about her day. My daughters tea was spolied and had a very off taste. That had to be replaced. The coffee was delicious. Very good coffee. I ordered a steak dinner to be cooked medium, with sauted squash and mac n cheese. My daughter ordered an omelete. The omelete was tasty and made well but there was no selection of toast offered. My steak dinner was a complete disappointment. The steak was so raw that it was purple and cold in the middle, the squash was raw and the mac n cheese was mearly a scoop of shell noodles with a scoop of white cheese sauce poured over. All the food was barely warm. As soon as the steak was cut it bled all over the plate and the contents. I asked the waitress to take it and have the steak and sides cooked more as well as to have the squash and mac n cheese on a separate dish. When the streak was brought back it was now medium well with some parts well done and the sides were all on the same plate with the steak. The waitress brought with her a saucer and said the cook didnt put the sides on a separate dish and I could do it myself. Also, it was very visually clear that the sides had not been refreshed, what had been done was that the parts of the food that had not gotten blood all over then had been scraped back on the new plate. I was hungry and super tired of the hassle and just ate the food so we could leave.
Also, when I went to the pay desk I had to stand and wait for the girl who waited on us to take my money. Al the while there was another young waitress standing at the end of the counter talking to a guy in street clothes. She ignored us and we had to wait for our waitress to get unbusy to take the money. In looking around while I was waiting, I noticed that there were ALOT of very young looking servers and the atmosphere was very chaotic. I wondered where the supervisors and/or management was that day??
This has bothered me since that day and we havent been back.
