Sanitizer used is Chlorine.

Note: Gentleman working the counter said they only use the snack bar once in awhile for special events.  This appears to be the case because there was no potentially hazardous food present at this time of inspection. No food temperatures were able to be taken and no sanitizer made up at this time. Only food items present were prep packaged drinks and candy. There were some hot dog buns in the freezer which stipulates there maybe hot dogs made on a occasion although no hot dogs were seen.

    Upper inside of the microwave soiled.
    Clean and sanitize all food contact surfaces.
    The food-contact surfaces of all cooking equipment shall be kept free of encrusted grease deposits and other accumulated soil.

At this time only prepackaged nonpotentially hazardous foods are served at the establishment. Worker stated that grilling may take place in the summer months but they are not sure yet. It was discussed that the establishment please inform the Department with the decision that has been made so their risk category will reflect the type of food service at the establishment.

This recheck was to check that the door to the golf course is tight fitting. New weather stripping has been installed and the door is tight fitting with no gaps to prevent the entrance of pests or rodents.

NOTE: There will be a fee assessed for all rechecks.

Note:  It was discussed that facility may not seek licensure next year due to non-use of kitchen.  It was recommended that the licensee contact the Health Department prior to the expiriation of this license to discuss their intentions for this facility and discuss options regarding licensure/non-licensure.
  • Plumbing installed and maintained
    Handle could not be turned to provide hot water at mop sink.  Aerator to handsink in kitchen is excessively limed-up and restricting water flow to handsink.
    Plumbing shall be sized, installed, and maintained in accordance with applicable provisions of the Illinois State Plumbing Code.  Repair plumbing to allow proper operation.
  • Critical: Outer openings protected from insects, rodent proof
    Gap exists at bottom of outer door near cashier area.
    Openings to the outside shall be effectively protected against the entrance of rodents and insects by tight fitting self-closing doors, closed windows, screening, controlled air currents or other effective means.  Provide insect/rodent-proof outer door.

    Observed kitchen hand sink heavily mineralized causing poor water flow.
    Plumbing shall be sized, installed, and maintained in accordance with applicable provisions of the Illinois State Plumbing Code.

  • Food contact surfaces of equipment and utensils clean
    1) The stainless steal ice guard inside the ice machine is soiled. 2) The storage racks inside the walk-in cooler are soiled. Kitchenware and food-contact surfaces of equipment shall be washed, rinsed, and sanitized after each use and following any interruption of operations during which time contamination may have occurred. Clean these areas.
  • Storage/handling of clean equipment, utensils
    The plastic spoons found in the drawer below the microwave in the kitchen are stored in opposite directions. Facilities for the storage of knives, forks and spoons shall be used to present the handle to the employee or the consumer. Store the spoons in the same direction to prevent contamination of the food-contact surface.
  • Critical: Hand washing sinks installed, located, accessible
    1) The the metered faucet on the hand sink in the kitchen area only runs continuously for 7-9 seconds. 2) The the metered faucets on the hand sinks in the womens restrooms only run continuously for 4-6 seconds. 3) The metered faucets on the hand sinks in the mens restroom run continuously for 8-12 seconds. Self-closing, slow closing, or metering faucet used shall be designed to provide a flow of water for at least 15 seconds without the need to reactivate the faucet. Repair the faucets or replace them so they meet this requirements for bot the cold and hot water running continuously for at least 15 seconds. A recheck will occur on or after 6/14/11.
  • Lighting provided as required. Fixtures shielded
    The light bulb inside the True freezer is burnt-out. Permanently fixed artificial light sources shall be installed to provide at least 20 foot-candles of light on all food preparation surfaces and at equipment or utensil-washing work areas. Replace this bulb.
