Lefors, TX: ENTERING LEFORS. The small town is situated along the North Fork of the Red River and State Highway 273, twelve miles southeast of Pampa in central Gray County.

Lefors: CENTRAL LEFORS on East 2nd Street. Named for Perry LeFors, an area ranch foreman who had arrived in 1878, the town began as a log cabin which served as a stagecoach stop.
Lefors: RESIDENTIAL STREETS. A recent retiree walking her dog said she had happily given up a large city for Lefor's rural quiet and beauty.
Lefors: FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH. The other two churches in Lefors are the Church of Christ and the Methodist Church.
Lefors: PIRATES BASEBALL FIELD along East 2nd Street.
Lefors: HOMEMADE QUILTS grace the windows of an abandoned gas station.
Lefors: LEFORS CITY HALL. Lefors was elected the first county seat when Gray County was organized in 1902, and was incorporated as a town in 1931. The county seat later moved to Pampa.
Lefors: DOWNTOWN LEFORS consists mostly of Taylor Mart, which offers gas and groceries for about 600 residents.
