I'd seen the sign on the building for years and honestly, probably would never have stopped, but a friend said they were the best burger so I was lured in.
I travel the country pretty much full-time and consider myself a connoisseur of burgers, dating back to the 1950's.
These burgers, I would have to rate within the TOP 3, I've ever had, anywhere in the country. First...they are not a one hand burger...you aren't going to eat and drive...not on your best day.
My best advice...be hungry. Never having had one, I ordered my usual 2, thinking McDonalds, etc. These are full half-pound burgers. It does take some time to prepare them, and while I didn't weigh them....I'd say the half-pound was AFTER cooking. The flavor was superb....you could actually taste the meat in it...not just the condiments, the juices were still in the meat with all the flavor.
I ordered up the fries also. They appear to be handcut fries that were done to perfection....old style. Again, plenty of flavor.
Will be doing lunch there again today. In fact....when I was looking for a good burger, I'd be more than willing to drive up 25 miles for this one.
Before going, you might want to check to make sure they're open. I think the posted hours were 11am to 2pm, then open again around the dinner hour.
