I am so happy to write you. I was a 7 yr. old student in your 1st. grade class in 1942. My family lived on Teller ave. and it was easy for me to attend. I was blessed in so many ways in school ( what little I can remember ).Great teachers, great education. I left in 3rd grade to move to Staten Island and upon arriving I was skipped one grade ahead because I learned so much in PS 53. Now my grandson in 1st grade , in Waxhaw NC, as a class project was asked to compare his grandpa's experience in 1st grade to his ( wow ,what a job ). I was wondering if you have a listing of names of any 1st grade teachers in your archives and any other remembrances from those years. Love to receive some help from you. May God continue to bless the school , the staff and have a wonderful Thanksgiving. We have so much to be thankful for.
God Bless
John Osterberg
