I attended sorter school K-8. 7th and 8th grade was across the street from the elementary building. My name was Donna Falk. I have a lot of very happy memories at sorter. Last year I had to come in to Benton Harbor and went past sorter. I was so saddened and shocked to see the school closed. I stopped and looked in most of the class room windows and to see the school in such a terrible shape It made me cry. My heart was broken Years ago, when my boys were little, they wanted to see where I went to school. Well I was shocked to see the old sorter jr high building gone. I was the Bud Princes for the year 1962-1963. Donald Harvey was Bud Prince. We won a trophy I think for the float in the kiddies day parade or the Blossomtime parade. The trophy was in the glass case on the wall in front of the main doors. Do you know or can find out for me what happened to the trophy? Is there any kind of history books or pictures of sorter school and the old jr high? My dad Robert Falk attended the old building, I believe he would have started KG in 1935. I can not seem to find any thing in the internet. Thank you so much. Donna Coburn. 269-767-8222

I also went to sorter school in the early 70s. From k-6 then across the street to the 7th and 8th grade. Mr Peachy was the principle and I will never forget Mrs shingledecker the secretary. My name is David Brown, 269-759-4415
