B Bryan Preserve


B Bryan Preserve is a private preserve in Point Arena, California. It is home to many African animals such as zebra and antelope, the preserve is committed to the preservation of African hoof Stock. Visitors can participate in educational tours, take part in late afternoon feedings and local university students can participate in research opportunities. The preserve was founded in 1998 to study Sable, Roan and Greater Kudu Antelope.

Visitors are welcome to stay at the preserve with eco-friendly cottages with private hot tubs available of in the family carriage house. The cottages are two bedrooms with a cozy den and full kitchens, guests can make breakfast with the fresh eggs from the farm or vegetables from the garden. The carriage house is a two bedroom fully furnished house with a full bath and all the amenities required.

The African Hoof Stock that are bred and conserved at the preserve are cared for as Dr Frank Mello had an interaction with them in West Texas and he gained a desire to protect and study the animal. The goal of the preserve is to instill visitors with hope for the future and how they can help enhance conservation efforts.

The tours at the preserve are designed so that visitors and animals have enough space to roam and view each other from close up, not from behind fences. On feeding tours, visitors will view the power and dominance of the male antelope, the excitement of the newborns and how individual each zebra is. The property is 100 acres in size and provides a near natural environment for the zebra and antelope.

Visitors are advised to bring a jacket with them to the preserve as the fog and wind can come up at any moment making the temperature drop quickly. During the winter is may be quite muddy underfoot. Also, visitors should not forget their camera and binoculars.
