Description: This large resort in Gearhart surprisingly does not hog the landscape. It’s a four-building condominium complex. The central building is Gearhart House; just north of that is Pacific View. Just west, a little closer to the ocean, are Pacific Palisades and Pacific Terraces. And, in spite of the profusion of buildings, all the units have some kind of ocean view. Because the units are individually owned, they are all furnished differently and some of them are lush; moreover, the size and layout of the units are different. All units have a fully outfitted kitchen, fireplace (wood delivered daily), dining room, living room, and bathroom off each bedroom. (You can rent one- or two-bedroom units.) What’s more, there are two indoor pools (the one for those staying at Gearhart House has a Jacuzzi). A golf course is on-site. Banquet and conference facilities are available, and it is recommended that you check out the McMenamins Sand Trap Bar & Grill that is located in the Kelly House across the street from the resort. As is common on the North Coast, a deposit is required, and rates are based on a two-night stay. While it seems pricey, because they are condos the rent can be distributed among more people. Pets are allowed in some units. A pet fee is charged.
