In this section we’ve listed all the state park campgrounds and selected USDA Forest Service campgrounds from north to south.

Parks & Recreation - The Great Outdoors

The recreational opportunities along the Oregon Coast are as limitless as your imagination. In this chapter you’ll find information on the coastal landscape, geology, climate, plants, and animals. In addition, you’ll find detailed listings of state parks, recreation sites, and natural areas. The beach is the big attraction at many state parks. You can fly a kite along the shore, play Frisbee or beach volleyball, build sandcastles, play in the surf, or watch for wildlife. Almost all state parks have hiking trails that wander through scenic coastal forest, along wide, sandy beaches, or on scenic bluffs that overlook the ocean. You’ll have the chance to watch for whales, explore tide pools, and learn about coastal plants and animals by reading interpretive signs. In addition to beach access, many state parks and recreation areas have picnic areas nestled in a coastal forest or perched above the beach offering scenic ocean views.
