Description: Billed as a neighborhood bar, the Melrose offers a laid-back atmosphere with plenty of room to move around and more than 85 beers, some on tap, some in bottles. The casual pub decor features a long L-shaped bar, wood-paneled walls, a punched tin ceiling, CD jukebox, pool tables, arcade basketball game, and walls full of movie and music posters, as well as other memorabilia. The menu offers burgers, chili, waffle fries, steak sandwiches, and other bar food. The Melrose reuben is a cut above with angus corned beef, Swiss cheese, sauerkraut, and Thousand Island dressing on marble rye bread. The Melrose club sandwich also is a good choice with seared seasoned chicken breast, bacon, and cheddar cheese on toasted wheat bread dressed up club style with lettuce, tomato, mayo, and honey mustard. The smoke-free bar is restricted to patrons 21 and up at night.
