  • Observed a damaged knife (missing a part of the metal blade) being stored clean on wall hanger, located next to the 3 compartment sink.

  • 1. Ensure all utensils are cleaned properly (remove all food debris) and in good repair when staged for use (in wall rack holder by 3 compartment sink). Observed one knife with old food debris and one knife with a damaged blade, both staged in wall rack, ready for use. 2. Ensure all beverage spouts on soda fountain system are cleaned as needed to remove debris. Observed two spouts with a wet mildew like substance and hard water deposit.
  • Ensure all potentially hazardous foods are held at 41 degrees F. while in the cold hold unit at pizza prep area. Observed the top layer of ham slices to be at about 50 degrees F. in the pizza prep area cold hold unit. Management turned over the ham to cool the top layer down during inspection.

  • Observed the scoop for the ice machine laying directly in the ice with the handle coming in direct contact with the ice, as well as the scoops for the shredded cheese with the handle coming in direct contact with the cheese. Ensure that the handle for the scoops do not come in direct contact with any food product to help prevent contamination.
  • Observed a leak below the 3 compartment sink. The leak must be repiared by a licensed plumber so that waste water is properly disposed of.
  • Observed food debris on rack inside refrigerator and rack by pizza oven, both racks need to be cleaned and sanitized. Shelf above 3 compartment sink had food debris and a couple of dead gnats, shelf needs to be cleaned and sanitized before storing any clean wares on it.

  • Observed employee drinking at the register and talking on personal cell phone then begin to spray butter on pans and cut pizza coming out of the oven. The employee should wash hands and exposed portion of arms. Wash the hands whenever one changes from one task to another such as immediately before engaging in food preparation, working with exposed foods, clean equipment and utensils and unwrapped single service and single use articles.
  • Observed soda and candy on prep table where pizza's are assembled. All eating, drinking and use of tobacco must be done outside of the kitchen/prep area.
  • Observed employee re-filling cold hold unit of ingredients and hand sink was clogged. All product must be discarded and employee must wash hand and fill with new product.
  • 229.166 (f) (4) air gap 2x. Observed no air gap on the ice machine outlet. Provide for an air gap with 1 ½ inches or two times the diameter of the pipe.
  • 229.166 (i) (1) (A)HWS not accessible. Observed hand sink with water backed up. Handwashing facility must be fully accessible at all times for employee use. There can be no barriers and this sink can be used for handwashing only. Plubmer arrived and unclogged hand sink.
  • Observed prep tables used for cutting pizzas coming out of the oven full of food debris and utensils dirty.

I went to lunch and got the buffet. The pizza was average, pretty much what you expect from a buffet. The reason I am giving a one star is that I paid with my debit card and left a two dollar tip. When I got off at work I took a look at my bank account and found that they had charge me $10.27 and $12.27. When I stopped by the store the "manager (Mr. I was a police officer)" said that this is a known flaw in the system and always charges those that leave a tip on their card twice. Once for the original price and once for the price with tip added. He said I will be refunded in 3-5 business days. The problem is he admitted "it is a known flaw in the system". So for all those that want to leave a tip at this location I would suggest keeping your money or leave cash. They could careless that they get to earn interest on your money and you do not because they have a "flaw". Beware!!! If they "take" your money for their use for 3-5 business days then there is "zero" protection against them taking more money at a later date due to the "flaw".
