Someone's going to have to develop an alternate AI. Then the two AIs will have to go to war over the soul of humanity. Sounds like a good plot for a movie!

GIGO - it’s only as good as whoever programmed it with whatever info it was programmed with. Machine learning can only go so far.

I passed up a customer wanting 30 of these dumb articles edited to “make sure they still have a human touch.” No thanks. I would have to charge double bc I’d have to fact check everything and rewrite many sentences to make them sound like they were written by a human.

So, the AI spits out its garbage and it still has to be fact checked and edited for humanness. To me, that is not productive nor efficient nor cheap. Know your subject matter and I can fix the holes and grammar problems. It still boils down to the best product being produced by a human.

Another issue I have with AI is separate but have you ever tried those photo manipulation programs that automatically convert your image to watercolor or whatever kind of preset manipulation? Those are crap also. The better option is Photoshop and mastering your craft of making the manipulations manually. I’m not against the digital world but we need to recognize its limitations and pump the brakes hard.

Everything you need to know about ChatGPT
" ChatGPT - A lot of chatter about it"

Have never heard of it before.

I have a lot of better things to do with my life, then to waste it on "chatting"!

I think some of it will be via legislation, but I really don't think that will be necessary.

I think a certain part of the population will flock to it like lemmings , while others will be completely oblivious that they're interacting with it and not a real person.

Look at how people so willingly gave up so much personal information for something like Facebook, to check out girlfriends from highschool and post pictures of their cats.

I don't know. This kind of reminds me of Paul Krugman's infamous prediction that the internet would turn out to be no more impactful than the fax machine.

While it is impressive and it's already doing things from solving programming problems to writing news stories. What's more concerning is that it has really escalated the AI arms race. Going to result in a lot of jobs being automated.

Google hopes ‘Bard’ will outsmart ChatGPT, Microsoft in AI
