It is one reason I always recommend to young men and women to seek training and jobs as plumbers, electricians, etc. Those jobs will not be replaced by AI.
Actually, they will be. No jobs are immune. Robotics will be instrumental in assuring that. Robots will be able to do those jobs faster, better, and most importantly, cheaply. People simply would not be able to compete with that.
Probably why there has been huge pushback even among some the pioneers of AI. AI does have the potential to harm or even end civilization as we know it.
Wendy’s is automating its drive-through service using an artificial-intelligence chatbot powered by natural-language software developed by Google and trained to understand the myriad ways customers order off the menu.
The Dublin, Ohio-based fast-food chain’s chatbot will be officially rolled out in June at a company-owned restaurant in Columbus, Ohio, Wendy’s said. The goal is to streamline the ordering process and prevent long lines in the drive-through lanes from turning customers away, said Wendy’s Chief Executive Todd Penegor.

Yeah... I still see plenty of flesh and blood people working in drive-throughs. In fact, I still see plenty of flesh and blood people doing the most menial jobs, such as operating toll booths, or stocking shelves.
Let’s hope so! So many “jobs” are just paper pushing these days.
Many of these "jobs" that "AI" is allegedly "replacing" are pure make-work BS jobs.
