This is another list/slideshow from the Albany Business Review: https://www.bizjournals.com/albany/n...ns-albany.html

Are there any chains that you wish the area had on the list? Are there any that you feel that the area could do without?

I really miss Costco. That's the biggest one for me. And I miss SuperTarget. I know we have Target, but I miss being able to do my grocery shopping there.

The Target in Clifton Park sells groceries.

A snippet about a chain coming to the area...

Biz Eats: This Boston fast-casual chain is making a big push into Albany: https://www.bizjournals.com/albany/n..._news_headline

Wegman's will never make it to Albany bc of the hold Price Chopper has. Too bad, as I feel PC has some of the highest prices in the area, and the customer service is hit or miss. I guess it depends on which part of Albany they're in.
Chick-Fil-A would be nice too, somewhere besides just the airport.
I was disappointed to see Firehouse Subs, a popular sub chain (I think moreso down South) close up their store in Latham. And surprised to see Jimmy John's remain.

Would *love* to see Kroger come up north, but odds are it won't happen. We already have too many grocery stores (at least 5 in Latham, and Colonie has 6, same including Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, & the mom & pop ones).

Costco would also be welcome, but probably wouldn't fare well since we already have Sam's and BJ's.

Slightly off-topic but still relating to chain stores....I wish we had more gas stations that also featured a fast-food restaurant next door. I saw them all over the place when I went to visit family in Dallas, TX. Can't think offhand of the gas station names, but I remember seeing places such as Church's Fried Chicken, McDonald's, and others next door to the convenience store/checkout.

I've heard rumors about a Wegman's / Price Chopper agreement. It was something like Wegman's would keep all their locations from Syracuse and west. While Price Chopper would stay east of Syracuse.

I'd like to see some of these chains come to the area.

Perkins Restaurant and Bakery
HomeTown Buffet / Old Country Buffet (they need to bring it back)
In-N-Out Burger
Big Boy or Bob's Big Boy
Bennigan's

Wegmans has obviously overstepped the Albany area and it's not because of Price Chopper. I'm sure that Wegmans would net as much in one Wegmans in Virginia as all of Albany. No offence to Albany.
