Loss of taste/smell is a classic symptom of zinc deficiency.

I had COVID multiple times. I took zinc, 50 mg 3x times a day. It was a lot, but is safe for short-term usage, especially when fighting a bug. I never lost my sense of taste or smell.

Same, complete failure of the medical establishment, basic supplementation wasn't even communicated to the public
