And the funny thing is, today we went and looked at a house that had awesome scenery, but it was to far back on a dirt road(s) to be feasible..haha

We are also considering moving to Kingman. We live in central Montana and for now would be coming north in the summer til we get too old to travel safely. Suggestions on areas of town to look at would be appreciated. How about electric rates and water quality in town or out at the Valley Vista golf course area? We would like a lot that has rv parking and nice neighborhood under $150,000.

We ended up buying in Golden Valley, but that suits our needs better, as far as my commute to Needles is concerned. I can't speak for water quality, since we aren't there yet (hoping by the end of the month)

As far as housing prices, they seem pretty reasonable. We bought 9 acres with a house and some other outbuildings for $195,000, but I would think you could find something in your rice range. Look on relator.com. that's all we did, and one we found a house we likes, we contacted a realtor.(and I'll recommend her to you if you want)

Kingman looks to have a lot of newer construction areas, where the shopping is.

Kingman sucks in general. Drugs/crime etc.

If you will be working in needles. I would suggest bullhead city ft Mohave or Mohave valley. Most of the horse property is south of bullhead city.

It is hotter in the Colorado river valley but there is no snow and it rarely drops below freezing. and there is the lake, the river, the desert and Laughlin with the casinos, car shows, buffets, entertainment, etc.
Scratches head!!!!
You moved from Kingman(or anywhere) to Bullhead City for safety?
to get away from drugs or crime?

Thats place is drug/crime haven, unless you live up on hill away from town

Lol.. I was going to say..
Compared to where I'm at in Cody, Kingman has tons of stuff.
The house we bought in GV is nice and the area in general seems to be fine, although I did notice some areas are kinda sketchy, just like any city has.
The valley is to hot for my taste.
I'm not unhappy ( yet ) with my choice in GV

You should've have probably moved in by now. What's the update on your opinion of living in GV?

We moved here in July 2018.

I don't mind it. Is it paradise? No, it's not, but most everything you need is within 20 minutes. For where we live (Teddy Roosevelt and HWY 68) we're about 20 minutes to Bullhead City, and 15 minutes to Kingman.

It does seem like it's been extra windy this year, compared to the last couple of years. The wind does blow a lot, which is typical of the high desert. I think the wind is actually worse in Bullhead, than it is here. Generally speaking, when the sun goes down, the wind stops.

Sometimes I miss Wyoming, but definitely not in the winter. We had one snow fall this last winter and it didn't even stick. The winter of 2018/2019 we had 2 storms and one was a record breaker, but after being in WY, I just laughed, got in my car and drove.

Lot of people on water haul here. I'm one of them. I have a trailer with a 1000 gallon tank, and I have 5,000 gallons of storage. If you don't want to be on water haul, then you will need to find a place near a paved road. Our house is only 1200' from pavement, but I have to haul. I'm not going to spend the $30,000+ to get piped in. I can get 4,000 gallons of water for $4.25, so I guess I'll deal with it. There are also people that will deliver water.

Restaurants: In GV, there is:
1. Ninas Kitchen. Ate there once. It was ok.
2. Great American Pizza. Awesome food, super nice, very patriotic owners.
3. El Rancho. Great food for the price point. You can get a burger and fries for less than a fast food restaurant, and it will be way better. Kind of a hang out for the local "good ole boys" not that it's a bad thing, it's actually nice. They are nice folks.

More in Kingman and BHC. You have some of the chain restaurants like, Cracker Barrel, Chilis, and all the fast food places. Also Black Bear diner. Vegas is only 100 miles, so restaurant choices are unlimited there.

GV looks like a dump from the highway. Lot of run down, burned out houses, and everything is just scattered everywhere. Like there was no rhyme or reason for why things are where they are. Some areas are nicer than other. I live on the west end, away from all the businesses in the "downtown" area, so it's less traffic and a little quieter.

Generally speaking, the folks are friendly, and helpful. You do have your meth heads and druggies like any desert town, and they are also on Kingman and BHC, so you won't escape them. We haven't had any issues here, but our property is 9 acres and fully chain link fenced, plus we have guns and dogs...lol

If you have any specific question feel free to ask. My wife is also a realtor here in town, if you want to look for a place, she can help you out as well.

Reps to you for the balanced information.

Kingman has quite a few good restaurants, microbreweries, etc. Even better choices in Lake Havasu City which really isn't that much further.

I've never bothered to go to LHC, since I spend most of my time working, and just don't have time to go over there

My Aunt and my mom live in the Teddy Roosevelt / Hwy 68 area.

I just spent a weekend in your neighborhood.
