Mesa: suburban, flat, extremely conservative (LDS), prices about the same as PXH metro.

Mesa, Chandler, Gilbert, Ahwatukee all pretty much look the same. Farmland converted to tract homes.

Holbrook is a very small town produced by the I-40 stretch and one of the many hundreds of small towns by the res border.

Not sure what you need to know about holbrook.

Default Apache Junction

I spent around 3 years in this area and just moved out of state. I like that it's fairy easy to find your way around and some areas are really pretty. I don't personally feel that the schools are very good in that area. I'm not sure if you have children. My husband was a manager of a local business and the owner employed high school kids. There were some kids that had graduated from high school, that did not even know how to read but were hired to give a chance to them. I did live in a fairly decent condo complex. My car was broken into once and on that same night another car was broken into and they tried to steal that one. My neighbor's car was stolen right out of the Walmart, since than they have security cameras. At certain times of the year, it seemed to get really crowded in stores or places to eat I went to. Lots of people come to Apache junction from colder states for the winter. There are a lot of mobile homes which some people don't like living next to. All of the people I came into contact with seemed pretty friendly. There is a drug population out there. (but where is there not?) I like that your not too far from things like shopping at the mall and a decent amount of choices to eat. For Groceries I went to Walmart or Fry's (bought meat and produce at Frys) I can't leave out the gorgeous view of the mountains every day. I'm going to miss that. If your going to rent I do not recommend Arizona Prime Estates because they take many weeks to do any kind of maintenance. There were some people who drove around in golf carts instead of cars.
