Well, as a LONG time NASCAR fan, I think that they've managed to completely "screw the pooch", especially on the speedways. In an effort to follow the trend of "wokeness", therefore equality for all, they now specify, pretty much, that all the cars are the same and equal. So what that does, on a speedway, where most of the racing is "flat out", is it creates 2 rows of cars, 18 rows deep, side by side, because nobody can pass. Take a chance and step out of line, you drift to the back of the pack, very quickly. And they parade around like that until A) pit stops shuffle the order, somewhat; or B) somebody "bobbles" and causes a "big one".
As has been mentioned, over the last 2-3 seasons, it's now nothing more than a revival of the old IROC series, but with more cars.....
On a side note, congratulations to Travis Pastrana. He hung in there, until the final "big one" sucked him in.
