Nicotine Takes Edge Off Anger - Live Science

Hidden Benefits Of Nicotine on The Brain - Mental Health Daily

To me it seems like the psycho authoritarians types for some reason get to have airports as there private playgrounds to screw with people. Flying used to be fun, BYOB no problem and a smoking section even on the planes but now everything has gone stupid for some reason.

Most Connection Airports I've been to have a AirSide Smokers room(s), with a dedicated smoke evacuation fans. So Smoker can get there Nicotine fix before there next flight.

Because smokers only care about themselves and have no issue with second hand smoke impacting non smokers lives.

If I could I would ban smoking in all public locations.

Even when I smoked - and I did, for ten years - I was aware that most smokers were profoundly self-absorbed. Personally, I never thought I had any sort of right to impose my habit and all the negative and hazardous implications thereof upon others.

Stupidest idea ever. Let's let a small fraction of the flyers exhale smoke in an enclosed tube up in the air and pretend it will stay in the smoking section. I am so glad this has been done away with. I am also glad all the restaurants and bars in my area are smoke-free.

Bring your nicotine gum if you want, but the airlines don't want their employees exposed to mass quantities of a toxic smoke.

Quote:
While the pre-ban flight attendants had normal FVC, FEV1, and FEV1/FVC ratio, they had significantly decreased flow at mid- and low-lung volumes, curvilinear flow-volume curves, and evidence of air trapping. Furthermore, the flight attendants had significantly decreased diffusing capacity (77.5±11.2 %predicted normal) with 51% having a diffusing capacity below their 95% normal prediction limit.

This cohort of healthy never-smoking flight attendants who were exposed to SHS in the aircraft cabin showed pulmonary function abnormalities suggestive of airway obstruction and impaired diffusion.

I used to fly when people were allowed to smoke. Ugh. Filthy habit to be around. Secondhand smoke is hard on everyone’s lungs. So your idea of fun is smoking and drinking from your own bottle on a packed flight for hours at a time? Really?

The title is "airports" not "airplanes".

Flying today is kinda like jail... you get thoroughly searched on the way in, there's a bunch of stuff you can't bring in from the outside (like water), the staff can go on a power trip and there is nothing you can do about it, and people fight with each other.

So it's not surprising to me (but still sad) that the government wants to make life even more miserable for the inmates and prohibit them from smoking. A segregated smoking section in an airport harms no one except the feelings of people who want to control other people.

That and their nasty habit of thinking the world is their ashtray and throwing cigarette butts wherever they please.

Every airport I've ever been to has smoking areas.
