As one passenger stated, "If it's Boeing, I'm not going."

This company's reputation seems to be imploding in real time, but it seems surreal and unreal to me somehow...as if it couldn't possibly be happening. It's as if a movie were made about a major aviation company that stays in business in spite of repeated accidents and defects. Nobody would believe it could really happen, but some would think it funny, so it might be entertaining enough to make a profit.

The airlines are loving the focus on Boeing instead of on their poor maintenance work.

I couldn't give you anymore rep, so I stopped to say that this is spot on. Bunch of overhyped media spurring on people, who don't know better, to histrionics.

The two Max crashes were horrible, but the sheer lunacy of reporting every single event, especially those that are airline screwups, is bounding on ludicrous.

The sheet metal on the Southwest plane is 100% not on Boeing, but people too ignorant to wade beyond the overly dramatic headlines are feeding this frenzy.

Never heard of that happening before. Could be a maintenance issue, or could be a Boeing issue. Might depend on how old the plane is. Sort of reminds me of vehicle airbag failures for some reason.

The aircraft is 33 years old. It's not Boeing's fault.
