The Giants are leading all MLB in home runs so far in 2014. Last season only the hapless Marlins hit fewer than SF. Giants on a pace for 243 homers, last season they hit 107.

We close the roof when it warms up. The roof is open for some night games but bees go to sleep after sundown.

We've had one issue in the ten years that we've lived here in Phoenix; many bees here are Africanized.

Nasty 'lil buggers......

Wrapping up the first week of the regular season, and my Tigers are looking to go 5-0 to start.

Ian Kinsler is proving to be an awesome pick up. Tori Hunter swatted a laser off of the left field wall and Kinsler scored from first.

No play at the plate.

Later on, Kinsler gave himself up by going the opposite way to right field to move the runner from 2nd to 3rd. He could've cranked on that slider with a 2-0 count.

Here in town, Gibby & Trammel are scratching their heads about the D-Backs' bullpen. Martin Prado is gonna be out for a couple of days due to a finger laceration. He was "cleated" while fielding a throw to 3rd.

The Royals win this contest as Brett Gardner has homered for the Yanks. Also, Jeter singled to move past Molitor.

The Royals have been shutout on four singles by Chris Sale through 8 innings, so they still have the ninth to try and produce their first 2014 home run.

The Mets and Cardinals remain stolen base free through today's games. NY attempted one but Juan Largares was nailed.

Holy cow. Went to the Rays-Rangers' game today and I was bored stiff. Might have been because the scoreless game 0-0 until the 8th inning......or because I was in outfield seats...or because the season is only a week old ----but I've got another 19 or so games to go to this season and I'm NOT into MLB yet

The Astros had hit a total of four home runs in their first five games. Today against the Angels they hit five.

Prado looked pretty hurt after it happened, but he didn't miss any starts.

Wade Miley figured out how to fix the bullpen problems....keep those guys sitting in the bullpen. He threw 8 strong innings against the Rockies, and also went 3/4 at the plate with an RBI. Someone needs to step up in Corbin's absence, and it looks like Wade Miley is doing just that. Hopefully he is returning to his 2012 All-Star form.

Cingrani extends the streak to 20. Knocked out after four innings, but allowing only 3 hits.
