He's in the right era.
Imagine if he was playing against Laimbeer and Rodman, or the guy with the magic elbows Bill Cartwright.
Rodman, Oakley, Barkley, all these guys would break his ribs.

True, and while I am not a betting man, dropping some money on Chet in the small chance Wemba does tweak something and they shut him down would yield a good return.

I really hope he doesn't get hurt, all I am saying is this new rule means no award is in the bag until that magic 65th game is played, which keeps betting markets open.....which the more I think about it may be a nefarious reason for the rule on top of the outwardly stated reason.......

Wembanyama averaging 19.0 points, 11.0 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 3.0 blocks, 1.3 steals.
Holmgren averaging 16.9 points, 8.0 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 2.8 blocks, 0.8 steals.
And their shooting %s are not even close. How can a guy that tall shoot such a low %? Chet is having a better season. But Wemb is getting all the hype. And his team is horrible. Has there ever been a ROTY on a team with a record this bad? I highly doubt it.

Similar to Embiid, takes jump shots, and Embiid shot 48%fg for his first 4 years in the NBA (209 games in his case), and far worse in the playoffs.
Wembanyama is shooting 46.9%fg currently, and attempts FIVE 3s per game (and makes 33.5%).

And I saw a stat showing that Wembanyama makes only 25.7% of his catch-and-shoot-3s, but makes 42% of his pull-up-3s...

Elton Brand and Steve Francis shared ROY honors in 1999-2000, when Chicago were 17-65, while Houston were 34-48.
Its probably happened A LOT, because the top draft picks are usually given to the worst worst teams, and often the youngest teams, and young teams often take a long time to win games.
Even rookie Michael Jordan's Bulls only went 38-44...

Wembanyama has now played 70 games, and appears headed for 73.
In his last 5 games Wembanyama has averaged 24.6 points, 12.2 rebounds, 6.8 assists, 5.8 blocks.
And the Spurs have gone 5-5 in their last 10.
Will post Wembanyama's season averages after his final game.

Wemba is going to win ROY but give Chet credit for playing every game this season when he didn't play any games last season.

Yeah it has to be Wemby for ROY. No question about it. I’ll be really curious to see what off-season moves the Spurs make. They absolutely have to get some quality pieces around him so that we can see just how high his ceiling is. It would be a tragedy if the Spurs turn into the Angels who wasted Ohtani and Trout. I don’t think the Spurs would be that bad but I was disappointed that they didn’t seem to even try to get him someone to play with. Chris Paul would have been excellent for him once it was clear the Dubs were not going to be great. I guess we shall see.
