Transplant revolution? Hardly. Of course some people relocate to Birmingham, just as people relocate away.

I don't have historical metro area population data in front of me, but I suspect Birmingham is nowhere near the top of fastest growing metros. In fact, its population growth is quite possibly being outpaced by the national average meaning there are actually are more people transplanting away than transplanting in.

If you want to see cities with transplant revolutions, see Atlanta for the last 50 years, SoCal/Los Angeles for the last 100 years, or Phoenix/Las Vegas for the last 25.

Yes, Birmingham is NOT a hotbed of transplants. Transplants are mainly form Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee.

I think differently on BHAM's part , check the link out. BHAM is coming.

This does not mean people are moving there, what would they be moving there for?

I met someone the other day from Atlanta as I meet a couple of people from out of state. The love it here , they like it's a big city like Atlanta but not big as Atlanta at least. Your opinion is different from mine of course , as every other city has the yays an the nays

You have to be paid to work for the chamber of commerce, all you say is so sensationalistic it reeks of boredom.

BHAM has potential like most areas but its not a real destination for moving. Regardless of it being the no. 1 spot for affordability most people are choosing other cities to move too. Like the poster above me said you should work for the Chamber of Commerce for BHAM

I wonder if people like you are going to use this same negativity towards OKC and Knox which are both in the top four, two cities which have been brought up as being better in many a post on this board.
