We are relocating to the Birmingham area and looking for a family-friendly upscale neighborhood as well. I am a stay-at-home mom with two children, 6 and 5. I've been researching and Mountain Brook seems like the best place to be, followed by Trussville and Hoover. Have you found any nice areas?

Where are you working in B'ham? What is your price range?

What about schools?

I live in Trussville, a community just east of B'ham. It is a great place to live, with a short commute to downtown. Also, great schools. convenient shopping. I am a real estate broker and work in a community w/ community pool(Longmeadow--www.liveatlongmeadow.com) You can e-mail me @ jtippen@realtysouth.com if I can help you.

Mountain Brook and Homewood are very nice areas, with great schools.

I am not a realtor, but have a friend from church who needs to sell their historic, circa 1920, stone home in the most beautiful area of metro Birmingham, with pool. Upper Bracket. Husband has already relocated. They have spent three years there, more than 100k under appraisal.

Think about it, let me know. Welcome to Birmingham
