I get it now, "like TJs" meaining affordable, but you didn't SAY that part.

I said Co-Op because it's local, your criteria. Boise is far enough off the beaten path that it's fairly difficult to have a combination of locally owned, specialty foods, and affordable. The Boise Bargain Basket Broadway (local and affordable) just closed, though they were more of a Grocery Outlet. (OH! GO is a good option for for inexpensive wine and some organic products. You just won't find everything you're looking for.)

All said we are getting more stores of these kinds of stores. One by the mall and one in Meridian(?) As I don't plan on shopping there, I don't know the names off hand. And Whole Foods is on the way too! (Though none are "local". )

It's not TJ's, but Natural Grocers is now open on Milwaukee in the old Comp USA store. Had lots of the same stuff I was used to buying in the health food stores back in SoCal, and I felt the prices were reasonable.

The other one is Huckleberrys in Meridian, but I don't think it's open yet.
