Pros & cons: living in MA (Boston especially) (Worcester, Wilmington: house, theater)

Waterfront is always an asset. Here are the basics

1) the look. waterfront property pretty much always has a higher value

2) Access. Access to trade and ports. Before highways things were by boats. Look at all the cities by the great lakes (Cleveland, detroit, buffalo etc) more trade added to that. Trade attracts more and then airports come in, rail etc. It compounds

3) It can add to foods. i.e fresh fish.

4) It can add to recreation. Sailing comes to mind.

To say it doesn't add anything doesn't make any sense.

Also keep in mind believe or not boston harbor was cleaned up. It wasn't easy but it was done.

A positive is that it's close to the Carribean and Europe so you can get on flights for cheap.

A negative is that everything is old and falling apart and still want to charge you like it's brand new.

Something racist to a black person is in the news EVERY OTHER WEEK here. But black people are just complaining because their black so who cares . So then they go reaching for something done halfway across the country in Chicago that was more violent and done to a white so this means what happened here didn't happen (It had been-for 18 months), should not be addressed, isn't that bad, and black people are the real problem.

Most of those "hate crimes" turn out to be hoaxes perpetrated by overzealous social justice warriors to "raise awareness." As for this particular one, we don't know the whole story. It is quite possible the perp is a racist prick who did it simply because his neighbor was black. But, assuming the section 8 part is true, it is also entirely possible the occupants and visitors were turning the surrounding neighborhood into a drug and crime-infested ****hole and neighbors had every right to be upset.

There was a house like this in my neighborhood, where a single address was responsible for 95% of police activity in the area, and needless to say everyone was not happy about it. Thankfully thug trash living there on everyone else's dime finally got booted, but it had been dragging the whole neighborhood down for at least five years prior to that.

Take a deep breath and re-read the post, will ya? I never said the house in my neighborhood was vandalized, only that it had police showing up several times a week for disturbances, fighting, drug dealing, robberies and I believe a shooting. And needless to say everyone within a ten block radius was extremely happy when the occupants finally got kicked out, though sadly they probably were given another apartment somewhere and are now terrorizing that neighborhood.


But then again, why do I even bother? You must be an ardent BLM supporter who believes Mr Sizzurp was an angelic 12 year old, and Big Mike was a gentle giant who wouldn't hurt a fly who got AfterFX'd into that convenience store video by a bunch of evil cops.

I don't know what being angelic has anything to do with ok'ing police abuse. A person can be a bad person, with a record a mile long, and it still doesn't make it ok for police to abuse them. Never mind ANY 12 year old.

I know police shooting cuffed people in the back is not OK. Nor is them shooting unarmed health workers sitting on their ground with their hands up when they're trying to help their autistic patient.

Thankfully more and more of these abuses are being filmed and the issue is finally being addressed. It seems lots of people in this country (mostly Trump supporters) believe Obama has been a racist President because he's made a point to address these abuses. I say it's about damn time.
