I'm tired of all of these petty and SELFISH complaints.

Where I'm referring to, also involves kids older than 4 and 5. Also doesn't explain why the parents can't walk their kids down to the bus stop.

I don't think they do that with older kids.

I'll pay more attention next time I see it, and report back.

Lol. When I was 5 I walked a good distance to school with neighborhood kids.

I am not waiting any minutes as I'm not on the bus. But it must take a lot of time for the buses to have to drive around to all those houses every kindergartener lives in. As I said we walked our kids up the st or drove them when it was freezing to the bus

Yeah people from NYC make fun/crap on pretty much everywhere. They do it on Jersey the most.

Im 26 and love cities but I hate the provincial that comes with New Yorkers. They always have to use words like “the best” or “top tier” in a way to make themselves feel better.

Boston and LA are like different planets. So yes, some growing pains would be involved.

But OP calling it the worst place he's ever lived is definitely a stretch. Boston's quality of life is very high on several metrics. But hey, he'll see what he wants to see...

OP, live somewhere that makes your life a good one. This is not the place for you and that is perfectly ok.

This thread was started in 2013 and resurrected from 2022 just recently.

So the OPs perspective is from ten years ago, not recently. They may see Boston better or maybe even worse than in 2013 if they posted now.

Well, like I posted, it’s not just a culture shock but a culture slap. It does feel like entering another country in some ways. When you’re not there on your own terms, the energy and willingness to adapt and make that place your own is hard to come by. I’m in a similar situation to OP and I’m basically just existing here in WNY.

In the town I'm in kindergartners are with grades 1-5 on the bus and are picked up and dropped off at the bus stop, but an adult needs to be at the stop with them.
