Speaking of Jamaica Plain, the Arnold Arboretum for biking or walking. Designed by Frederick Law Olmsted, the same guy who designed Central Park after all. Not far from Sam Adams Brewery and in fact connected by the linear Southwest Corridor Park and the Orange Line rapid transit route. Definitely admire the views on the Charles River and the Waterfront. I'm no drinker but bars and pubs are everywhere and our Theater District has some pretty good nightclubs too.

Hi,
I will chime in for recommendations. If you want a nice beach, try Crane's Beach or Parker River National Wildlife Refuge. Note that parts of the beaches may be closed for plover nesting season. You will need to drive about an hour to reach either destination. Beach traffic could be substantial on warm days. More locally, Constitution Beach in East Boston is okay. Arnold Arboretum in Jamaica Plain is great. The Museum of Fine Arts, New England Aquarium, and Isabella Stuart Gardener Museum are the best cultural destinations. The waterfront has a lot of laid back bars. The hippest/nicest bars/nightclubs are in the theater district and near Fenway Park. Allston has ratty bars. All of the above are accessible by MBTA. The waterfront is a nice but very expensive area to stay. AirBNB might offer cheaper and more historic options in a Back Bay or Brookline brownstone. Driving and parking in Boston are awful. Stick to the buses and subway wherever possible. Enjoy!
