Sounds like a car was hit on Pierce.

Seemed too cold for that type of activity last night.

Chicago and Detroit are colder. Theres no such thing as too cold for crime.

There is a well known seasonality associated with crime

In recent years, shootings in Chicago were more likely to happen on warm days and especially during the weekend or holidays. This finding is in-line with studies that have linked crime to higher temperature and also suggests that shootings may be related to when individuals are outside and more likely to encounter violence. Interventions that keep people inside, such as air-conditioning and summer programs for students, might be effective in reducing the number of shootings in Chicago.

But of course this is only true in term of big picture. A single crime can happen on any day wheater cold or warm.

Yes, crime goes up when more people are outdoors (warm, weekends, holidays) for sure. But it's never too cold for crime. Especially not when I'm guessing someone just sat in their car unloaded 43 rounds for intimidation purposes and sped off. A lot of times I notice in Boston and Brockton especially people just shoot into an empty car or shoot into a house. You're much less likely to get caught and you still get your point across. 96% of non fatal shootings in Boston don't lead to an arrest-let alone incident where no one is hit.

I can imagine the effort the police puts into these investigations! In their defense, nothing would probably change even if they put some more effort.

I wonder why 2 or 3 shots wasn't enough? Why the need to go to 50? I get that these folks aren't really playing with a full deck...maybe this person was on crack.

I doubt very much these people are honing their accuracy at the range.

right but 50 shots? Maybe they'd never used a gun before which is possible.
