Some background on me...I am currently in Columbus, Ohio and graduated college May 2018 (I'm 23). I have been working as a data analyst on a contract since I graduated. I am from here and have never lived anywhere else.

I was just offered a job in Burlington paying 55k. It's full time employment with benefits, something I've never had. I have lots of questions, but my main one is...how far does 55k go in Burlington? I understand the cost of living is higher than Columbus, but would 55k be doable? Also, how is the job market? Is this a place I could settle down? Thanks for any advice, and please chip in with any other advice you may think of.

Ya...cost of living is going to be a shock. You are looking at at least 1k in rent for your own apt. If you don't mind roommates you can find some cheaper options.
Burlington and it's "metro" is a small area....150ish K people so we have a small economy and a low unemployment rate right now. There are good jobs, but many are taken and when they do open up there is competition.
What industry are you in?

Thanks for the reply...sorry for taking some time to respond. I'll be working for a small healthcare company. In your opinion, could I do okay on 55k?
