As in reverse tow it -- as in bacwards w/ butt up in air -- or even better all 4 wheels down just leave manual stickshift in neutral? Can it be??

Need more details on towing rig (GCVWR / tow capacity) and weight of small pickup, but... generally

yes, either way...manual tranny of towed vehicle in neutral.
1) Tow dolly, front or rear wheels up on dolly (Very difficult to back-up while hitched)
2) Tow bar - all four wheels down (more difficult to back-up while hitched, easy to unhook, move, and re-attach)
