I grew up at the base of that mountain. It's amazingly packed with unprecedented snow right now. I feel so bad for his family and friends. It's going to take a long time to find him. I hope sooner than later after the snow melts. A lot of times depending upon weather, Mt. Baldy will retain a fair amount of snow into late spring or even early summer.

*Update*

Remains were found this week in area where Julian Sands was last seen. They have been transferred to local ME office for identification.

You would think, that'd be the first area they would search yet it took them this long to find something?

There was major rain and snow this past winter. More than usual. Way more. That's why they had to wait to do the search. As soon as the snow melted, they resumed the search and found remains. The dam directly below Mt. Baldy is completely full of water - melted snow - that almost never happens. I grew up in the area. Never saw it that full.

Well considering California was moaning about huge droughts for past few years that is a good thing.
