This makes me smile from check to check. I have been wanting to see this building put to good use for years now and have thought that this would be an attractive mixed use building downtown. Location for apartments and commercial space on the bottom couldn't be better. I hope that this unfolds nicely, or otherwise I might end up buying the building!
Sounds promising Chris. I was in Charleston last Saturday and noticed a good bit of construction going on. It's seems like there is a lot of interest in people wanting to live downtown.

For sure. I can see downtown in ten years as something much more than a business district.

Yep, there is definitely plenty of ideal locations for loft style living, along with some of the vacant high rises that could be converted from commercial to residential space.
This will be a nice improvement to downtown, as it almost feels like an accomplishment currently if you only hit 10 red lights.
Well, maybe. I've noticed for as long as I can remember that driving up Virginia Street, staying just under the speed limit, all the lights would turn green as I got to them. [sarcasm] Now they'll probably improve things so that won't happen any more. [/sarcasm]
