After going throughout the treads on Chattanooga I came with the mindset that it was a ''GEM '' an actual ''City''. But after spending 1 and a half weeks here I found out that I had explored everything by day 2. My stay was actually 2 weeks but I remade my plans because I was so bored. I got by after day 2 eating at Chili's on Market and wandering througout the city trying to find something to do.

It's not a city where you go downtown and walk around for 2 weeks. Obviously you didn't hike, rent a kayak, take a boat tour, rock climb, hand glide, do the museums, Ruby Falls/Rock City tours, battlefield tours or see the Chattanooga market. The Chattanooga Symphony has concerts; the theatre has shows; and there are lots of musical opportunities. I don't know how you finished all that in 2 days.

I hate that you missed Alleia, Kumo, Acropolis, 212 Market or the dozens of other fabulous restaurants in Chatt. Chile's? What a let down. Could have gotten some bread at Niedlov's Breadworks or ice cream from Clumpies. Too bad.

Chattanooga is hella boring if you live here most of your life, in due time, you'll conquer everything & it'll suck

I went there for a weekend, and enjoyed it. So, I think that your post is not very descriptive.

Just curious, but when were you here and what would you have found interesting? It's very likely that something was going on for every day that you were here.

The only person to blame for being bored is yourself. If you're the type that requires constant stimulation to avoid being bored then you should consider moving to Gatlinburg, TN, or Branson, MO.

The fact that you chose a national chain (Chilis? Seriously?) over any of the excellent restaurants downtown and in the Northshore area speaks volumes.

Bingo.

When we were first considering Tennessee, over five years ago, we came up for a visit to Chattanooga. We were there ten days and didn't get to do everything that we wanted.

You can go to Chili's and a bar anywhere. The natural progression on that itinerary would be crackhouse.

I just noticed you are from Chicago. I hate to tell you, but my husband was born and raised in Chicago and thoroughly entertained in Chattanooga. And goodness, when you say you thought it was a "real" city did you actually look up the population and how big it really is?
