Thank you eshever and wish-bone for the valuable information!

Wish-bone. By pet hotels do you mean dog daycare?? or is it more like for when you go out of town? I tried researching dog daycare in the Chattanooga area but couldn't find much, if you know of any could you let me know?
When we come down to visit I I would like to travel with our dogs and be able to have my dogs 'try it out' (daycare) and that way we could go out to eat etc and have a place for them to have some supervised fun! Also are their many hotels in the area that accept dogs does anyone know??
Thanks,
Angie

Many hotels accept pets (some like $5-10 a night per animal) something like that make some calls and you will be pleasantly suprised Sorry I do not know of any off the top of my head.

Hi, as I said before, Hope and I are here visiting and looking at houses and communities with our realtor (she has a Golden and he and Hope have become great friends!) We are staying at the Homewood Suites and they allow dogs for no additional fee. It's very nice, close to the Hamilton Mall and we get breakfast every day and dinner on Mon. through Thurs.

Now to doggie daycare - I had asked that a while back and there's a new one that just opened that Charlotte told me about and an existing one. Go to playdogexcellent.com and choochoodogcamp.com I also saw one called thebarkmore.com

Thumbs up Newspaper Mission article LINK

S: .There is a very positive article in todays Sunday paper of single lady running a "Safe Haven" property for animals. Animal rescue a 'mission' | Chattanooga Times Free Press
Rhea county is just north of Chattanooga / Hamilton co , has the city of Dayton, which is very horse friendly . Annual Dec holiday parade has horse carriage theme.

. As mentioned before up on the plateau there are pockets of poverty, and last year has seen much unemployment in the furniture & north Georgia carpet industry, putting issues on animal care / ownership.:

I just moved down here from NJ about six months ago. I can tell you in general people treat dogs differently down here. You will see stray dogs roaming around (its very sad) you will see many dogs chained to a tree, you will not find dogs being dressed up in clothes sitting at the dinner table and sleeping in the bed. Other than that, its everything your looking for and then some. I strongly suggest you rent something on a month to month basis. This will allow you to get the know the different areas well. Only you know what you want....you cannot buy a house based on someones opinion about a town or whatever.

Good Luck!

Dave

SMADAVE- Thank you for the honest info!
I hate the thought of renting especially with x-lg dogs, cats and rabbits, but you are probably right! Either that or spend all our vacation time here in TN- haha.
