I agree, the schools are not the best and you have to work hard to find the ones that are and we do have some good ones. The school we are zoned for is decent but the neighbor kids seem to have alot of problems with basic reading and math skills. I know it's not all about the school and parents have a large impact on learning but it seems to be more than that here. Needless to say, I will be camping along with other parents this fall to enroll my son in one of our magnet schools.

Anyway, where did you all settle? And how do you like the neighborhood/area?

oh wow camping out for enrollment??????? seriously???? lol ... are these Magnet schools that good ... or the other schools that bad??????? lol ... thanks for the heads up. i'm sure with this new information i can seal our kids in home schooling for a while (their daddy is wanting them enrolled next fall ... )

well ... we moved to the area back in june ... but because we couldn't find the "right" place around here, we ended up in a little house out in Dalton and then moved to Hixson on Halloween ... which btw, i don't recommend moving anything on Halloween Night!! Some crazy things happen on that night ... we love our little neighborhood though, it's great and the kids have already made some pretty special friends we're five minutes tops to just about everything important or cool ... including the hubby's work ... it's just great!! i'm so glad we chose to come here over the other options we were given and i am so looking forward to building a groovy little life here among these here hills

Ok, Ok, Ok. This thread has gone on for quite some time and now has a few topics so it is time to close it as it has also caused quite a bit of controversy. Not saying people can only say nice things about Chatt, just that if you have something to say it would be a good idea to start a new thread.
Thank you all for participating.
