Of course it won't be as huge as the White Water in Atlanta, but it's still going to be suitable for the area. Going to be built on Ringgold Rd.

Going to have a wave pool that's big enough so people can also "surf", slides, a kiddie section, and a lazy-river that encircles. Also will be 3 new restaurants on site.

Right there on the front page of the paper. Guess it helps to read the morning paper in the morning rather than the afternoon.

Yeah well, what do you know? LOL Ok, just researched Thursday's paper and I see that this may be going down. Let's hit Lake Winnie and then on to the water park to cool off!

I saw this in the paper also. Lookout Ringgold Road more traffics a coming! I think it will be good for the community, but will make for possible driving challenges.

This thing got approval faster than lightening!! I think the "profits" of this venture will go to those involved and the real people that will pay will be the residents of East Ridge. I can understand the initial reaction to this news being positive, but when you think 1-2 years ahead .....what do you see?

I have seen the demographic changes occur in the Chattanooga outskirts with the North Shore and South Side improvements and am sad to see East Ridge loose their "local" flair and go down this road.

Each part of town must have at least 25 pieces of flair

Last edited by Jon F Moss; 12-02-2007 at 08:52 PM.. Reason: too much flair

Ya'll seen this?

Splash Valley Tennessee

Developers broke ground on the $12 million Splash Valley Water Park in East Ridge today.

Around 200 people gathered under a tent at the construction site.

East Ridge and Hamilton County officials lauded the project.

Developers David Mayes and Shawn Callahan plan to open the park by the end of May.

Now the park is little more than grass and trees at what was once a mobile home dealership on Ringgold Road.

Developers say the 12-acre park will spring up quickly. The rides are manufactured elsewhere and delivered ready-made, they said.

Tickets are already on sale at the park’s Web site, Splash Valley Tennessee.

For full coverage, see tomorrow’s Chattanooga Times Free Press.
