Shortly after filing his lawsuit, he was convicted of tax fraud. He worked for the mob selling keno machines for restaurants and tried to write off nearly all of his income as a business expense. At trial, his defense (using HS and Jr. College transcripts) was that he's too stupid to have intentionally committed tax fraud.

As I wrote on the other forum, the dating lawsuit appears to be nothing other than a desperate money grab. The mob investigation has been going on for quite a while, and his was actually one of the last cases to go to trial.

It seems that when he realized there was no chance they were going to offer him a plea deal, he got desperate and went looking for a cash source (it looks like he may have paid back some of the taxes he owed. Probably thought that filing the lawsuit might shake a bit of money loose fast, and he could pay off the remaining debt. It wouldn't have prevented the conviction but might have mitigated his upcoming sentence. Plus, the interest on his outstanding balance continues to grow....).

Agree with all of this.

And the "clingy" aspect might also be the product of him needing a sugar mama.
