CHICAGO - A Chicago man is suing dozens of women for $75,000 after they wrote negative reviews on a Facebook page describing him as "clingy" claiming his reputation has been harmed.

Nikko D’Ambrosio, 32, said his name and photo were shared on the private "Are We Dating The Same Guy" Facebook page, according to a lawsuit filed in the Northern District of Illinois. He is suing 27 women, saying he has been subjected to defamation, doxxing and invasion of privacy.
How bad of a date was this guy to get 27 women to talk so poorly of him in a facebook group that he was able to hire a lawyer to try to sue them?

I remember there used to be some site that you could rate past dates. I had a female friend tell me I was on it. I never did find out what my "review" was but my ego was never fragile enough for me to care, much less sue over any of the information shared on it.

I know I was always a decent date at least. I paid for the meals, respected the woman's space and generally just tried to find healthy conversation.

Any "man" who finds a need to sue over libel from his past dates must have some real security issues. With that being said, I also think it's wrong for these women to be rating a man they went out with. Unless he sexually assaulted them or did something else heinous I really don't think it needs to be shared.

Doesn't really reflect well on the women either that they go on-line to publically bash a guy like that.

Now if he'd done something criminal or really bad, sure.

But, ok...put the shoe on the other foot...if you had a website where a bunch of men labeled a girl giving her first and last names as "clingy", shallow and other negatives it would create howls of protest.

Sheesh, move on people.

Agreed. Not sure how one can ghost and be clingy at the same time.

This guy was just convicted on 2 counts of tax fraud. Sentencing in May.

I guess he's from Des Plaines, and misrepresented his income, also fabricated donations to his church for tax purposes.

Sounds like a winner!!

I wonder if his cell mates will read his reviews.

Good ol social media.

I've heard of these "groups" where women posts warnings about men they've dated.

Even though the potential for such groups can be good (warning about real predators, etc), the potential for abuse is rife.

All you need are a few women who have been rejected, etc to post hurtful things to get revenge on said men.

Though it would be a bit difficult for such a lawsuit to succeed. How do you prove that somebody actually posted that message, etc.

Would be interesting to see where this lawsuit goes... doxing is a real threat, whether it be for a man or woman.

It's all been discussed extensively over on the 'Current Events' section.

Shortly after filing his lawsuit, he was convicted of tax fraud. He worked for the mob selling keno machines for restaurants and tried to write off nearly all of his income as a business expense. At trial, his defense (using HS and Jr. College transcripts) was that he's too stupid to have intentionally committed tax fraud.

As I wrote on the other forum, the dating lawsuit appears to be nothing other than a desperate money grab. The mob investigation has been going on for quite a while, and his was actually one of the last cases to go to trial.

It seems that when he realized there was no chance they were going to offer him a plea deal, he got desperate and went looking for a cash source (it looks like he may have paid back some of the taxes he owed. Probably thought that filing the lawsuit might shake a bit of money loose fast, and he could pay off the remaining debt. It wouldn't have prevented the conviction but might have mitigated his upcoming sentence. Plus, the interest on his outstanding balance continues to grow....).
