Am I the only one who wonders how a Canadian citizen is going to find a job in Wilmington? Just wanting to live near a beach does not qualify one for legal immigration status.
The biting insects in the area are horrific. Biting flies, mosquitoes, ticks, etc. There's a lot of water, so that's a natural breeding ground for many of them. The worst insects are the roaches in downtown Wilmington. Real estate agents have come up with clever names for them, but there are gigantic American cockroaches all over. Also, FIRE ANTS! Can't forget about the fire ants.

Lots of Canadians move that are in the health care industry. If there are immigration questions, its very easy to establish a critical need for health purposes.
I moved here in 2018. I have the blood type where mosquitoes love to chase and bite me. I can't even step outside for ten seconds without getting at least one mosquito bite. If I stupidly try to hang out outside I will get DOZENS of bites. I hate it and I honestly feel like I want to move away at this point because of how horrible the bugs are here. The humidity makes it all even worse.
