I like going but w/ the high price of gas, I've curtailed a lot of unnecessary driving, ie instead of going there 2 or 3x a month, maybe I'll go once every 6 weeks or so (and maybe not even that often). If something is local (which it's usually not), then I might be more tempted but not for a long drive unless I can combine it with something else in the area.
I used to go. Since people started watching HGTV - the prices aren't as cheap anymore. In Cali. we call them Swap-Meets or flea markets. Pasadena has a great one which is now (usually) way overpriced.
We go. It's a fun thing to do with the kids on a Sunday morning. I've gotten lotsa antiques, and lotsa junktiques, too. My husband collects table lighters from the 20's through the 70's, and have found a lot of great deals on them at flea markets. They have become quite a conversation piece! We sold my favorite one, The Dunhill "Silent Flame", in a time of financial need.

I rarely go to flea markets but love going to yard sales. Last week I bought two items for a dollar each, researched them and found out they are worth about $800/ea.
Am going to wait till the recession passes and then try to sell them.
Speaking of yard sales, I see quite a bit of people buying practical things i.e. toasters, hand tools, garden tools, etc. than before. Money is getting tighter all the time, picking up a wrench at a yard sale for 50 cents beats paying 5 bucks at the hardware store. I love flea markets, but there are none in my area.
